The artwork is accompanied by a certificate from the Comité Auguste Rodin dated from the 11th February 2011.
Bronze reductions of the Age of Bronze were a great success, especially after Rodin's death, and although it is not yet possible to determine the exact number of casts of this first reduction made by Henri Lebossé, an enlarger-reducer working for Rodin. We know from the Musée Rodin archives that Rodin had 3 copies made by the Alexis Rudier foundry between 1913 and 1917, then at least 7 copies by the Alexis Rudier foundry between 1927 and 1945, followed by 9 copies by the Georges Rudier foundry between 1953 and 1971.
